A Culinary Legacy in Puerto Vallarta
Few restaurants tell a story quite like Archie’s Wok. Its origins reach back to Las Caletas, the secluded coastal retreat of filmmaker John Huston, where Archie served as his private chef beginning in 1978.
Accessible only by sea, Las Caletas welcomed an extraordinary collection of guests, from celebrated artists and filmmakers to friends and visitors from around the world. Around the dining table, Archie developed a culinary approach that combined international influences with the fresh ingredients of Mexico’s Pacific coast.
When Archie’s Wok opened in Puerto Vallarta in 1986, those traditions found a permanent home.
Today, the restaurant remains a family endeavor. Cyndi continues the legacy alongside daughter Kiyoki, whose hospitality welcomes guests into the dining room, and son Sergio, who oversees the kitchen.
The Art of Southeast Asian Cooking
The kitchen draws inspiration from the culinary traditions of Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and neighboring regions.
Fresh seafood, vegetables, fragrant herbs, and traditional spice blends are central to the menu. Ingredients such as kaffir lime, lemongrass, galangal, ginger, tamarind, and coconut milk create layers of flavor that are at once vibrant and beautifully balanced.
Signature dishes include Thai curries, chicken satay, Filipino lumpia, stir-fried noodles, and seafood prepared with aromatic sauces.
A selection of tropical cocktails complements the cuisine, while the tradition of sharing dishes encourages a relaxed, convivial dining experience.
An Intimate Dining Experience
Located near the Los Muertos Pier, Archie’s Wok offers a welcoming retreat from the lively streets of the Zona Romántica.
The intimate dining room and garden seating create an atmosphere that feels both personal and inviting. Whether gathering with friends or enjoying a quiet evening together, guests are welcomed with the warmth of a longstanding family restaurant.
