Mantrala is handcrafted art created by Jose Luis Alvarez Chavez, an artist born in Mexico City. From an early age I used my art as a way to express my feelings and ideas. I love colors, shapes, harmony and balance in a design. Graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, I have been a Graphic Designer since 1990. I live now in Puerto Vallarta and I love it.

Luis does beautiful work — graphic mixed media pieces, mandalas, painted stones, and most strikingly, painted puntillismo wood pieces — in the shapes of sea animals, stars, hearts, and others — that are truly unique in Puerto Vallarta. Definitely I’d suggest checking out his offerings and you’ll find something you’ll like.

I was recently walking around Central and found this amazing gallery. I needed some gifts for my friends and family back home and I was like a kid in a candy store. I wish I could’ve bought every piece. Visiting this gallery is a must on your next visit to Puerto Vallarta
