Billed as a Male Burlesque Cabaret, the show was for the most part, a dismal disappointment. Unless you were already fuelled up after a boozy afternoon .you could see this show was amateur at best. It’s a poorly choreographed international romp across several well known countries of the world. Audience participation determined which countries would be visited. Thereafter followed an embarrassingly lame collection of attempted cultural choreography and some rather routine and tired burlesque moves. We have all seen the towel dance before. Segments in the show were spliced together with short videos introducing each country on parade. The cast also used the show as a vehicle to raise money for various causes. This fundraiser aspect was not advertised and we felt uncomfortable as only Mexican cash was accepted. I am not saying the boys in this show aren’t beautiful…they are …they just need a better director/producer/ and a better show. We would have walked out but for the BEST part of this show, the MC. The multi talented singer, master of ceremonies delighted the audience with his amazing voice singing a beautiful Latin inspired ballad in celebration of MEXICO. He professionally and seamlessly handled the run of the show that without his exoertise would have been a total artistic flop. This man, originally from Argentina, returned again and again dazzling the audience with his vocal talent and comedic timing. I would recommend you see the show just to hear him sing but it was announced he will have his own show singing the classic American song book and hopefully some songs from his homeland. I am sorry I did not catch his name but this man is a star that the world hasn’t found out about yet. So avoid this Boys on Fire show…but hope they can rethink things and come up with a fabulous show the peopled visitors in Puerto Vallarta have come to expect from the The Palm Cabaret. Cheers
