The story of Silveria Café Con Pan begins with family. For Chef Alfredo Perez Gomez, food is inseparable from memory and from the woman who first shaped his appreciation for cooking—his aunt and culinary inspiration, Tía Silveria. Her influence ultimately provided both the name and emotional foundation for the café.
Alfredo’s culinary career would eventually take him far beyond Mexico. Beginning with formative experiences around the markets of Lagos de Moreno, his journey led to professional kitchens in Chicago, Provence, and Hong Kong. Along the way, he worked in environments associated with internationally recognized chefs including Bill Kim, Gordon Ramsay, and Takashi Yagihashi. These experiences broadened his culinary perspective while strengthening an appreciation for technique, ingredients, and the pleasure of food prepared with genuine care.
At Silveria, that international experience returns to something intentionally personal and approachable. Bread and pastry are central to the concept, with fresh baking complemented by coffee, sandwiches, café dishes, and changing chef-driven offerings. The result sits somewhere between bakery, neighborhood café, and accomplished chef’s kitchen.
That distinction is important. Silveria is not simply somewhere to stop for coffee. The combination of baking and culinary experience gives the café a personality of its own—comfortable enough for an easy morning visit while offering the craftsmanship and depth expected from a chef-led kitchen.
Its location at Avida Market, at Insurgentes 193 in Zona Romántica, places Silveria among a growing collection of independent restaurants and businesses in one of Puerto Vallarta’s most walkable neighborhoods. Visitors can begin with coffee and something fresh from the oven, linger over a meal, and continue through the market or into the surrounding streets of Zona Romántica.
At its heart, however, Silveria remains a personal story. Behind the international résumé and polished cooking is the influence of Tía Silveria and the simple idea that memorable food begins with generosity, care, and something worth sharing around the table.
